JulieOw says, "I don'te reallly think that there is a moral boundary in technology, if so I can't think of one"

JenniferCa says, "i hate technology...i wish we could live in tents and kill our food "

MiMa says, "I'm just saying, we shouldn't have the right to create living things when it's been so natural before"
JenniferCa says, "the whole amazement about life is its individuality..cloning is takong that away"

MiMa says, "if you where supposed to be smart, you would have been made that way"

KurtDa says, "well the specifics on cloning are great, but as a broader topic, what is the group consensus"

JulieOw says, "can education keep up with tech. and is there moral boudaries it crosses???"
KurtDa says, "not really the moral boundaries, but the question is more about can we as learners, keep up?"
MiMa says, "i think people should be taught not to totally depend on technology"

MiMa says, "is it because they can't find some codes to make computers run after the year 2000?"

Mr.Cole says, "seriously, though, on our dependence on technology. Was there ever a point when humans were NOT dependent on their technology?"
MiMa says, "the first humans"
KurtDa says, "just the big super computers of a few businesses that have been around forever"

GeraldLa says, "they still had technology, it was just simple"
KurtDa says, "like 'me hit rock on rock and make fire....'"

Mr.Cole says, "So if we have always had technology, what's dfferent now. Why are we overwhelmed by it?"

MiMa says, "because we have so much stuff we don't need"
JenniferCa says, "because we dont know what everything can actually do"

MiMa says, "like, t.v.'s"
GeraldLa says, "these computers that screw up and cause us to get counted absent in english class"
KurtDa says, "yeah"

KurtDa says, "without them though, I wouldn't be able to afford stamps to mail letters to everyone"
MiMa says, "and who needs electric juicemaker's?"
JenniferCa says, "or electris toothbrushes"
KurtDa says, "no juicemakers, just coffee makers, thats all we need, coffee makers"

MiMa says, "like i said, we neeed to learn how to live without technology"
Mr.Cole says, "Well, strictly speaking we _need_ very little: a couple thousand calories, some whater, basic shelter. But I think most of us _want_ a good deal more than that."
GeraldLa says, "but no one has ever lived without technology"
MiMa says, "we could be the first"
JenniferCa says, "yeah people let their wants come before their needs"
KurtDa says, "I think all of us, (wiht the exception of good ol Ted K.) want a little more than that"
JulieOw says, "want and will have. Tech. not going anywhere so why don't we learn to live with it not without it"
Mr.Cole says, "Why do you say technology is 'not going anywhere', Julie?"
GeraldLa says, "if you didn't have technology how would you get food"
KurtDa says, "yea, but because of tech we get crappy schools like GA Tech."

JulieOw says, "I mean it isn't going away ever it is just going to get bigger. "

KurtDa says, "do we get to make grunting sounds too?"
GeraldLa says, "thats simple technology isn't it?"

Mr.Cole says, "Julie, that sounds like going _somewhere_, though we might argue whether it's a good place to go."
KurtDa says, "go mama"
Mr.Cole says, "is part of the problem the 'size' of technology? the fact that no one person can grasp it all? Are we threatened by the lack of control this implies/"
KurtDa says, "I'm not"
KurtDa says, " I use the parts of technology I need and forget the rest"
JenniferCa says, "i kow all in technology that i want to know"
JulieOw says, "I am not threatened"
JulieOw says, "The things that do threaten me I just don't bother with"
Mr.Cole says, "Well, maybe 'threatened' is too strong. Do we dislike the fact that it is so vast?"
KurtDa says, "the only thing that threatens me are those really big bombs and guns"

MiMa says, "most of us feel we should learn not to live to depend on tech."
