KurtDa says, "try typing "look note""

[Mr.Cole's Classroom] Mr.Cole says, "type 'read 1 on note'"

KurtDa says, "It depends on your standpoint"
KurtDa says, "England probably did'nmt think it was to fair."
ScottFr say, "I think if somebody reads the beginning it would be hard for them not to be for the US"
KurtDa says, "but iI like it, seeing as we're here and not there."

ScottFr say, "he could have said we are free, but to not shock your economy we will slowly stop paying taxes and such"

KurtDa says, "But i think our forfathers were, how do you say it, rather greedy"

KurtDa says, "The colonists in America were very rich, even richer then the english, so england wanted a piece for getting us here"
KurtDa says, "Don't get me wrong, I agree with it, but I'm trying to remain impartial"

Mr.Cole says, "ethos can be tricky. Any questions?"
ScottFr say, "We are trying to decide if he is credible"

KurtDa says, "ethics."
ScottFr say, "gotcha"
KurtDa says, "You know, the "was he right or wrong" issue"

Mr.Cole says, "It's a fancy term for credibility. 'Ethics' is related, but not quite the same thing. It's basically everything an author does to establish that he is worth believeing."
ScottFr say, "Mr. Cole, do you think he was credible?"
KurtDa says, "nevermind, I was wrong"
KurtDa says, "yes, what do you think"
Mr.Cole says, "For example, if I told you that the world was going to end tomorrow, you wouldn't believe me because I haven't convinced you that I have this kind of knowledge."
ScottFr say, "good example"
KurtDa says, "right"
[Mr.Cole's Classroom] The housekeeper arrives to cart MiMa off to bed.
KurtDa says, "its rather hard seeing as we were all raised believing he was right"
Mr.Cole says, "If I told you that you shouldn't listen toRush Limbaugh because he's a fat jerk, you wouldn't be inclined to believe me because I'm not demonstrating fairness."
ScottFr say, "Mr. Cole, I asked earlier and was just wondering about if you want us to not use words with apostrophes"
ScottFr say, "I listen to Rush"
Mr.Cole says, "Keep in mind that this was a radical document in its time. That these were dangerous ideas."
Mr.Cole says, "Scott, a) you'll have to use apostrophes in possessives and b) Rush was just an example. No offense."
ScottFr say, "none taken"
Mr.Cole says, "We're almost out of time. Perhaps we should adjourn to the main room."
